In this moment every moment exist
practical Tao images of yin and yang
what remains unchanging
is the eternally real...
Perserverance and swiftness
constancy and sensing
gentle without being weak
active without being aggressive
neither rushing nor lagging
mindful of the Tao
sensing is spontanious
long perserverance is striving
from striving to nononstriving
sensing of the original mind
inwardly still outwardly joyous
one senses by openness
and by openness one is fulfilled
Between upheavals and tragedy
there comes a time of meger security
where after so many years
your house becomes a home
and no longer the next step
in a never ending journey
to some other greater destination

Re: mindful of the Tao
Thu, May 29, 2008 - 6:11 AMGetting rid of the old
and not using it...
sensing is swift
arising spontaniously
without the need of cultivation
whereas long perseverance
requires effort in constancy
this bespeaks the depths
of both striving and nonstriving
absence of the human mentality

mindful of the Tao
Sat, May 31, 2008 - 8:02 AM
Ever mindful of the Tao: "one should value still clarity.
Still clarity is not empty inaction that does not use
illumination at all. But while one is illumined within,
one does not show it outside. One rest in clarity and
does not rest where it is unclear. Clarity is within
stillness; one does not lightly use the clarity of
illumination. This is the meaning of self
minimalization."
Being tranquil and imperturbable
one is uncontrived when quite
Being sensitive and effective
one is creative when active
inwardly perserving clarity of spirit
unclouded open awareness
unmoved by anything
getting rid of intelectualism
claifing the quality of illumination
resting in the highest good
integrating with natural principle
"Knowing one's personal understanding has a limit while
the understanding of many people is endless, one must
seek before knowledge and vision can expand."

Paradox, Humor and Change
Mon, June 9, 2008 - 7:59 AM
Like the flaming upward of fire
or the flowing downward of water
acting willfully sinking into debasement
the irascibility of fire and the greed
of unfulfilled desire abandoning the real
becoming contentious and aggressive
like wind arousing waves
random thoughts arise in profusion
"When irascibility is subdued and the fire returns to the origin,
then the mind is empty and produces light, so the original
spirit is not obscured. When greed is quelled and the water
returns to the source, then the belly is full and there is no
danger, so the original vitality does not drain away."
"When the spirit is illumined and the vitality is purified, as
pure water and true fire they balance each other; the earthly
and the celestial join and the primordial energy comes
forth from nothingness."
Light has a dual function
continuing illumination
to illumine the inward
to rest in the highest good
continuing enlightenment
to reach the four quarters
Flowing water travels throughout
There is truthfulness
in mastering pitfalls
the work of sages is twofold
constant in the practice of virtue
aiming for profound
attainment of self-realization
educating successors
searching out the recondite
and the profound
fulfilling nature
arriving at the meaning of life
