Just found this on my photo page:
New! Order prints of these photos
Tribe has partnered with Qoop.com to let you easily make
prints, photobooks, posters, and more from your Tribe photo album.
So no matter what the copyrights on your work say, anyone has access to order a print, with no payment ever being seen by us the artists for our work. Instead it goes to some .com corporation!

Re: Tribe is now selling our art!!!!!!!!
Fri, February 10, 2006 - 11:26 PMYeah I saw that on my photo page also. However, it doesn't mean that they are selling our photos. It is only available to the person who put them into the photo album. I can't order your photos and you can't order mine or anyone else's.
If you have the original photo file to upload into your album in the first place then you could make prints anyway without the intervention of tribe.net or anyone else. I think that they (tribe.net) meant this to be a service that they were offering us. It would have been better if they had email us all a message detailing this service before they started.
Hope that allays your fears. Although anyone can capture the images in someone else's album. Isn't that how most of us got them in the first place? -

Re: Tribe is now selling our art!!!!!!!!
Sun, February 12, 2006 - 1:46 AMI only sell raw work...not prints.
I'm only here for communication.
If I do decide to post photos of my raw work, well I'm actually not a 'tall concerned with what my brothers and sisters of this earth decide to do with those. I like it when lots of people see the pictures...I like to share. I feel that I have not allways been recognized by many people, which is totally fine as I have lived in some fine remote & rural communities with awesome friends and family who totally recognize me on a heart and earth base level. I'm simply here with curiosity....totally free from expectation. I am grounded and full of love and nobody can take THIS away. Fearlessness is a strong force...and it beats the fear-based frequencies. My intention is simply to share my art along with my stories, life & Presence.
I have been surrouded by wise teachers all my life. Maybe some people have not been. Karma is karma and I believe in the facT that justice is justice and those who do not live in line with justice and fair actions must suffer the consequences through personal experience, whether they are blind to the core truth of REALITY as it IS, or not. The laws of nature govern ALL...even those who chose to be living lives that are full of blind ignorence.

Re: Tribe is now selling our art!!!!!!!!
Sun, February 12, 2006 - 12:39 PMCreative license is a sticky wicket. I suppose that if
my visual art were my livelyhood I might be more
inclined to feel outraged, but it appears that Al has
a good point, and if that is the case then I see no
real harm done. However, if people are making
money off of our creative work individually then that
is entirely something else altogether, just doesn't
seem to be the objective intention here. I could be
wrong.
It is interesting this issue of ownership, creative
freedom and livelyhood. Posters and reprints in
my opinion are not original work. I guess the rule
should be from now on, when in doubt leave it out.
Otherwise whatever is posted is intended for the
enjoyment of everyone.

Re: Tribe is now selling our art!!!!!!!!
Tue, February 14, 2006 - 12:37 PMAnyone can copy a picture on tribe, download it to their hard drive, and get a print of it, its not really selling your art, its selling photo's. If you place it on tribe, anyone can download the picture off tribe, then simply go to a online photo company and get it printed.
